Chart Stands for Anchor Charts and Pocket Charts

Chart stands are great space savers for classrooms. Most classrooms have cinder blocks and it is difficult to hang heavy pocket charts on them. Anchor charts need to hang from a rack in order to easily flip over to a new page. Classroom chart stands can be single racks, double racks, clothing racks, easel whiteboards, or PVC DIY racks.  I love to find awesome classroom organization ideas. As an Amazon affiliate, I may earn a commission for purchases using my links. Learn more. The ideas below are Amazon for the best classroom Chart Stands for Anchor Charts and Pocket Charts.

  • Clothes racks v.s. anchor chart stands: This Whitmore adjustable rolling garment rack is easy to assemble. Since it is built to hold up garments, you know that it can handle anchor charts. I have found that the garment racks are cheaper than the 'made for classrooms' brands and they are just as strong or even stronger. If you're teaching on a budget, this one will give you the best value for money.

  • Hang two charts at a time: There are classroom chart stands that have a double rack like this versatile Double pocket chart stand from Carson Dellosa. Some pocket charts are very long, so the higher rack is usually for a tall pocket chart and the lower rack can be for a shorter pocket chart or an anchor chart. It comes with the rings and rolls on wheels so you can just turn it to show either the pocket chart or anchor chart that you need to use. It also has a storage shelf at the base.

  • Use a regular drying rack for clothes: If you want an anchor chart stand with more horizontal storage racks, use a clothes drying rack. This can be used as a back up stand that is strictly for storing your anchor charts.

  • Hang anchor charts on whiteboard easel stands: An easel stand doubles as a white board and as a stand for your anchor charts or flip charts. The second easel whiteboard has hooks for an acnchor chart pad but the teacher prefers to hang a magnetic curtain rod on it for her anchor charts.

  • Use a multipurpose chart stand for anchor charts, whiteboards, and storage: This multipurpose stand is extra wide and has two whiteboards, on the front and back, anchor chart hooks, and lots of large storage bins at the bottom.

  • Use an anchor chart wall hanger: If you're teaching from home and you do not have the space for a whiteboard easel or anchor chart stand, you can hang your anchor charts from your wall using this hanger made by the Post-It brand. This will free up your floor space and the hanger is designed to fit different sizes of anchor charts.

Make sure that you have the best anchor chart pads for your needs. I put together a list of tips for finding the best flip charts for anchor charts in this blog post.

About Me

My photo
As a Caribbean primary school teacher, I share my unique classroom with the world through this blog. Readers step into my class through the pictures, articles and classroom samples of games and lessons used in my class. I have been teaching since 2005 at the std. 4 primary level in Trinidad and Tobago. I am particularly interested in sharing my own personal lesson plans, tests and activities. Teachers need to share ideas and support each other because in doing so, we help to educate our students and develop ourselves as teachers. Technology is ever evolving and we as teachers should get on board with it, collaborate and keep up to date with this new age that we live in. Our students belong to this technological era and we must embrace opportunities to learn from each other in this global community. I also love to express my creativity in the classroom. I am a bit of a craftster . So I'm always cutting, gluing or making something... a game, a chart, a learning center, etc. So, teachers and parents, feel free to stop by and see what's new at Nyla's Crafty Teaching!
