Synonym Matching Games

Synonym matching cards

Synonym Matching Games can be used to give your students practice in matching synonyms while having fun. You can use a synonym memory game in which you shuffle the synonym cards and use only the cards that have the synonyms that you want your students to have more practice with. I also like the 'I have who has' games. For a synonym 'I have, who has...?' game, it is better to have a picture next to each synonym word for visual learners to connect the words to real life and to make sense of new and unfamiliar words. I have both a Synonym Memory Game and and a Synonym 'I have, who has...?' game at my TpT collection. Click on the pictures below to see more.

Center Labels

Center Labels for Preschool

Center Labels are made to label classroom center areas. These editable center signs have 54 different classroom centers that are printable for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. Each classroom center label is on a 8.5" x 11" letter sized sheet. All of these poster sized cards are illustrated with cute clip art images with classroom depictions. Some of the center posters (such as Math Center, Literacy Center and Writing Center) may be used for higher grades.

Update: The colorful dotted ones you see above is the older PDF version. It has been updated as an editable PowerPoint file with a back-to-school border. Some of the images have been updated as well. I also changed the font (which is embedded for you).

About Me

My photo
As a Caribbean primary school teacher, I share my unique classroom with the world through this blog. Readers step into my class through the pictures, articles and classroom samples of games and lessons used in my class. I have been teaching since 2005 at the std. 4 primary level in Trinidad and Tobago. I am particularly interested in sharing my own personal lesson plans, tests and activities. Teachers need to share ideas and support each other because in doing so, we help to educate our students and develop ourselves as teachers. Technology is ever evolving and we as teachers should get on board with it, collaborate and keep up to date with this new age that we live in. Our students belong to this technological era and we must embrace opportunities to learn from each other in this global community. I also love to express my creativity in the classroom. I am a bit of a craftster . So I'm always cutting, gluing or making something... a game, a chart, a learning center, etc. So, teachers and parents, feel free to stop by and see what's new at Nyla's Crafty Teaching!
